Jayne, like Marilyn, was an actress who wanted to be taken seriously and was perfectly capable of giving more serious performances yet the studio insisted on fluffy vehicles meant strictly to show off her voluptuous body. Jayne became a huge sex symbol in the 50's, and reigned until about the mid-60's or so.
